Dezer Automobile Museum-Miami

Recently I spent a couple of days in Miami and checked out the Dezer museum! It is also called the Miami Automobile Museum. I believe that it is the largest auto museum in the world. It contains numerous collections within the museum, such as mini and micro cars, bicycles, mopeds, scooters, motorcycles, a James Bond collection with many cars, planes, boats and other gadgets, a separate famous movie car collection, and a military vehicle collection. Visit this museum and be amazed! It is best done over two days or you’ll get auto overload!

It just happened to be that Autoweek published the following the day after I visited the Dezer Museum. The Bond Collection is now for sale.

James Bond fans around the world, get ready to dive deep into those pockets, because this is the chance of a lifetime. The world’s largest collection of cars from 007 movies is going on sale. How much? Just a cool £20 million, or about $33.5 million U.S. at current exchange rates. The 59-car collection, including six Aston Martin classics, has been in the hands of multimillionaire Michael Dezer, who has invested in dozens of the cars from the James Bond museum in Keswick. Some of the members of the collection include the Audi A5 and Land Rovers used in the most recent “Skyfall” movie, which hit theaters in 2012, as well as classics extending back to 1963. All 59 vehicles have been on display at the Bond museum, and Dezer is looking to sell the entire collection to one super-rich super fan — but only if they agree to buy the whole lot. In addition to the ridiculous collection of Bond vehicles, the lucky buyer will also receive thousands of bits of James Bond memorabilia including toys, posters and photos. Those of you who happen to have $33.5 million in expendable cash lying around can email Stuart Donovan at mayfairmotors@hotmail.co.uk.

Shell Commercial-Wow!

This message and video arrived in an email I thought it interesting enough to share here!

“The video below is Shell commercial shown in Europe. Ostensibly, they’re selling gasoline, but the cars used in the video steal the show. Ferrari pulled several of their race cars from various ages out of storage, flew them around the world and filmed them running through the streets of Rome, Rio, New York, Hong Kong, Honolulu and Monaco.

No computer graphics, these are the original cars on the original streets. The best part is the sound from the basso-profundo notes of the early, front-engine era, each scene cuts to a later generation, ending with the wail of a modern F1 car.

There’s just something about 3 liters and 14,000 RPM!”

What is so special with a 1960’s Ferrari 250 GTO?

What is so special? Well, to start off with one recently sold for $52 million. Then there is the historical significance of this car. They only made 36 of this model, and all had individual differences. The 250 GTO was built for racing in the GT class, and it did so very successfully. It was powered by a 3.0 liter V12 which developed 300 HP.

Below is a video which explains a lot more about the car.
The driver is Mr. Derek Hill, who won the Ferrari Challenge International Championship in 1995 and the Formula Dodge West Coast in 1996, and raced a Bugatti EB110 at Le Mans. Additionally, he has a special attachment to this car as it was his dad, Fomula One Champ Phil Hill, that raced it in Daytona and Nassau. But what is the car really like? Well, “It’s so hard to describe just how incredible it is to drive this car at speed. I mean, it’s really a certain kind of ecstasy.” We wish we could give you a first-hand account but, just like you, we’re relegated to dreaming. If you’re still reading, thank you. But we know why you’re here, go on now, watch the video. Video by Petrolicious.com.

Rezvani wraps an Ariel Atom in carbon fiber, calls it the Beast

Rezvani-beast-prev_653

California-based startup Rezvani has unveiled the Beast, a carbon-clad supercar based on the Ariel Atom.

The company is attempting to serve customers who desire the high performance of the Atom, but prefer an aesthetic design that evokes a Lamborghini Aventador rather than a go-kart.

“The Beast is the very definition of an aggressive, open-top supercar with minimalist surfaces and ultimate performance proportions,” the company boasts.

The carbon-fiber body has been designed by Samir Sadikhov, known for his work on the Aston Martin DBC and Ferrari Xerzi concepts. It pairs an angular front fascia and rear panels with a curvaceous topside.

The Beast 300 is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine tuned for 315 horsepower, while the Beast 500 steps up to a supercharged 2.4-liter mill with 500 ponies.

As expected, the body adds a few hundred pounds to the Atom’s exoskeletal curb weight. Both models are still relatively light, however, with respective 0-60 mph sprint times of 2.9 and 2.7 seconds.

The company suggests each vehicle requires 1,000-1,500 man hours and five to six months to build. Introductory pricing for the Beast 300 Launch Edition falls just below $100,000, with a normal retail price of $115,000, while the Beast 50California-based startup Rezvani has unveiled the Beast, a carbon-clad supercar based on the Ariel Atom.
