Ignition: 2017 Aston Martin DB11: Is It the Most Important Aston Martin Ever Made?

On this episode of Ignition presented by Tire Rack (http://www.tirerack.com), Jonny Lieberman takes a close look at the first product from Aston Martin’s Second Century plan, the stunning DB11. Stunning, it should be noted, both inside and out. Riding on an all-new platform, the DB11 also sports an all-new twin-turbo 5.2L V-12 engine that makes 600 hp. Jonny is immediately enamored of Gaydon’s latest but worries he’s not sufficiently British enough to properly explain the DB11 to the audience.

2017 Aston Martin V12 Vantage S: A dogleg makes this sports car even better

This episode of Ignition presented by Tire Rack is as much a love story as it is a car review. A supercar focuses on the numbers; a sports car is more concerned with the experience. The Aston Martin Vantage has always been a sports car first and foremost. Now in its 11th model year, it blurs the line with supercar firepower and the most interesting transmission on the road today. A dogleg seven-speed manual forces its driver to pay close attention to each shift, and the result is the most rewarding sports-car ride on the planet. It doesn’t help that the gorgeous body has aged remarkably well, the V-12 engine has had continual updates, and there’s a new infotainment system. Just 100 of these stick-shift Vantages will be sold in the United States, and those buyers might be the luckiest people alive. If it sounds like we’re gushing, just wait until you watch this monster try to achieve its 205-mph top speed on a dry lakebed, or attempt to not drift around a corner, stealing the heart of MOTOR TREND Senior Features Editor Jason Cammisa. Yes, our affection for this car became much more than your run-of-the mill review. Well, except for the poor German cameraman, who was tased into unconsciousness. Don’t worry, he recovered just fine.

Aston Martin Vantage V12
Autoedit got the key fob to a new 2011 Aston Martin V12 Vantage and hustled it into the hills for this quick video to share the sights and sounds of this amazing car. In my opinion, this car strikes the perfect balance of super car performance, stunning good looks, excellent build quality and every day live-ability. Retail price: $182,000.   My only question to anyone who has the means to get this car would be…”Why don’t you own one yet?”  It is that good! This car was treated to a Flowmaster exhaust system so that it can be used for a video game project and sounds extra special in this trim.  Turn up the speakers and enjoy!
